Required Information for Immediate Notification

When notifying the NTSB, you must provide:

  • Aircraft registration number (N-number).

  • Make, model, and serial number of aircraft.

  • Exact date and time (local or UTC) of the accident or incident.

📍 3. Location of Occurrence

  • Precise geographical location or airport name.

🧑‍✈️ 4. Name of Operator and Pilot-in-Command (PIC)

  • Full names and contact information.

📈 5. Flight Details

  • Departure and intended arrival airports.

  • Nature of flight (e.g., personal, instructional, commercial).

📉 6. Description of Event

  • A concise, factual description of the accident or incident.

  • Number of people onboard, including crew and passengers.

  • Number of fatalities or serious injuries.

  • Nature and extent of aircraft damage.

  • Weather conditions at the time of the event, if relevant.

  • Name and phone number of the person making the notification.
